Good morning and a Happy New Year to everyone!
Here on Team E we have hit the ground running in 2009 in hopes to wrap up our end of the 3rd marking period with productivity and confidence for the upcoming midterm exams.
Here is your update from several of the departments this week:
Math:
We have begun this post-holiday season reviewing inequalities and steps in which to solve them. We will complete Investigation #3 today and move into Investigation #4 for the remainder of this week. Quiz on Lesson 2 of Unit 3 will be early to middle of next week with review for the midterm taking up the end of next week. Exams start Jan. 20th.
Social Studies:
We had homework tonight, 1/6/09, we are working on understanding effective ways for citizens and groups to communicate with the government. Students brainstormed over 20 ideas per class on how to effectively educate citizens and the government on issues. On 1/7/09, students will be working to answer 4 scenarios in which they will be starting a commission to solve problems in their schools and communities. The second half of it will be offered as extra credit for homework on 1/7.
Thanks for your time, and have a great rest of your week.
