o Learned to use trigonometric identities to solve every day problems
o Demonstrated an understanding of inequalities and linear modeling
o Demonstrated readiness for successful study of Integrated Algebra
o Demonstrated a proper class attitude
o Completed all assigned class projects
o Evaluated the class and what it meant to you! Classroom Rules and Policies:
Classroom Rules:
1) Be seated and ready to learn when the bell rings.
a. I need to make the most of the 8,190 minutes I have with you this school year.
2) Treat all members of the class and their belongings with respect.
a. Allow for the free forum of ideas and opinions; pick up all personal trash, etc.
3) Be responsible for your behavior and all scheduled assignments.
a. Act as a model citizen in class. “To get respect, you must give respect.”
4) Follow specified directions regarding both individual and group work assignments at all times.
a. Please follow all directions carefully and complete assignments on time. Please follow all guidelines for academic honesty whenever typing an assignment.
5) No eating or drinking at any time within the classroom.
a. You will not starve or die of thirst throughout my class period. No exceptions.6) Please follow all supplemental rules and regulations as stated within the Colonial School District Code of Conduct.
a. I must enforce these rules to ensure that every student is given a fair opportunity to learn and have fun within the classroom. I feel that all of us have the chance to make our class the smartest ever!
7) Have fun while you learn!
a. I want us to have a great time in class, with plenty of laughter and learning!
I cannot wait to work with you this coming school year!Classroom Policies:Bathroom/Locker Pass Policy:
o Bathroom passes will only be given during work time. Exceptions made for emergencies.
o Locker passes will not be issued. It is your responsibility to bring all necessary materials to class.
Tardiness:
o You must be in your seat ready to work when the bell rings or you will be considered tardy.
o If your previous teacher kept you after, make sure that they give you a pass.
Student Dismissal:
o Students are not to leave their seats until the teacher says they are dismissed.
Class Participation:
o Everyone is encouraged to participate in class. When you would like to speak:
o Raise your hand and wait to be called on before you speak.
o One person talks at a time
o Respect others by listening
Homework:
o Assignments will be given regularly. It is the responsibility of the student to have them completed on time.
o Homework must be completed neatly. Assignments handed in illegible will be returned for the student to redo for credit. Students are welcome to type assignment on a word processor program if they feel more comfortable.
o Assignments are due at the beginning of class. No late assignments will be Absent Policy and Make-up Work:
o If you are absent for a day you should do the following:
o Check the homework board to see what you have missed. You can also check my website for the homework or e-mail me. Extra copies of worksheets are in the bins by the homework board.
o For any clarification or materials, see me after class or when students are working on homework.
o You have 1 day per absence to make-up any assignment.
Extra Help: o I am available for extra help anytime after school if notified ahead of time. If you are in need of extra help please let me know. There will be a sign up sheet to set up help. You must sign up one day in advance in order to receive help. Do not wait for the day before a major exam to ask for help!Academic Dishonesty:
o Do all assignments independently. Getting help from Mr. McNulty, your Parents, or another student is fine, but NEVER just copy someone else’s work. Consequences for this vary but can include a failing grade for an assignment and/or suspension from William Penn High School. This concept also includes cheating on exams, copying homework, plagiarism, unassigned group homework, etc.
