Good day to everyone!
In math class the past few days we have completed working on an exponential growth situation that dealt with population change of South American countries, with emphasis placed on Brazil. Students have handed in that material to be graded today, and will be posted by early next week. As for the Lesson 1 quiz which was taken on Monday, absent students this week have been completing the quiz, so that will be handed back on Monday. For families with Home Access, the grades have been posted, so you may access your student’s realtime grade in our class at this point in the marking period.
To also add, Team E has decided to begin an e-mail update on Mondays and Wednesdays that will include Math, English, Social Studies, and Science updates. With any specific questions regarding student performance in class, please contact the specific instructor.
Today in class students are completing a stations activity where they move around the room to different stations answering a series of questions in cooperative groups. These grades will also be posted either later today or early next week.
Thank you for your time, and have a great weekend!

Good day to everyone!
Just a note for everyone…yesterday’s quiz on Lesson 1 has been graded and all students who were present and completed the quiz have had their grades posted onto Home Access. You are welcome to check those out at your leisure. As for class today, we began discussing and will continue to discuss Lesson 2, Investigation 1 throughout the rest of this week.
We have also assigned an extension activity that will be due for student’s on friday. This is a task assignment which will be placed in the gradebook as an assessment. This is an open-note assignment any students may use whatever resources they would like to access the information. This is a similar paper to the quiz just taken, so the students are very familiar with the material discussed. With any questions, please feel free to contact us.
Have a great day!

Good day to everyone in Team E!
Today, we have taken a quiz on or material we reviewed, discussed, and evaluated in Lesson 1. Students are welcome to sign up for after-school help for tuesday and thursday of this week. As always, per classroom rules, students must sign up one-day in advance in order to attend after school help sessions.
With any questions, please feel free to contact Mr. Land or Mr. McNulty either through e-mail or through the blog.
Take care, and have a great week!

Hey there everyone!
This week in class we have discussed the main concepts around the topics of rate of change and both exponential growth and decay. Since we have covered a significant amount of material in our class, Mr. Land and I both feel that it is time for a QUIZ!!!! This will be taking place on Monday in class. Parents, please remind your students to review their investigation packets to help them with the quiz material. These materials are their best tools for success on the quiz. They will have the entire class period, and calculators will be available.
Thanks again for checking in, and have a great safe weekend!

We will discuss the checkpoint and check your understanding in class tomorrow before moving onto investigation #3 in the second half of this week.
Students and parents, you can expect a quiz/test on lesson #1 either friday of this week, or monday of next week.
Have a great night!

Hello everyone!
In today’s class, we ran a very productive and efficient group lab experiment that dealt with a bungee jump experiment. By the end of today’s classes, students should have completed their tables of data and created their graph. On tuesday when we return from the holiday, we will begin with problem #1 and answer their questions.
Have a productive, relaxing, and safe labor day weekend!

Hey Everyone!
Today in class, we completed our 5- minute warm-up that focused on the introduction to probability and chance. Following the 5-minute warm-up, we answered several questions that students had from the student survey. We also began the investigation #2 of lesson 1 in Unit 1 that focuses on “taking Chances” and dice-tossing scenarios. We finished problem #1, and will continue onto the remainder of the packet tomorrow. What we do not finish tomorrow will be due for homework on wednesday.
Just a reminder, we do not have school on friday due to the Labor Day weekend. Just a note for parents.

Hello everyone!
This week, it has been a pleasure to get to know the students and parents of the William Penn 9th grade Team E! I look forward to meeting with all of you throughout this year, and working to make your students the most successful team at Penn!
This week in class has been a lot of fun, and we have started to get down to business. Wednesdayand Thursday was an opportunity to introduce ourselves (Mr. Land and Mr. McNulty) and to get to know the students. We have completed a student survey, and have reviewed both the class syllabus and class rules.
For homework this weekend, students are expected to have their classroom materials including a binder with several tabs for sections. Everything completed in class this year will be three-hole punched for them, to maintain organization.
Thanks for checking in, and have a great, safe weekend!!
Welcome to the 2008-2009 WPHS School Year!
August 19, 2008
Welcome everyone to this year’s first post for the WPHS Team E Integrated Math I Blog!
We hope that everyone had a restful and safe summer, and we look forward to working with you this school year!
On Wednesday, students will be receiving student and parent surveys. Parents, please take some time to fill out as much as possible on this survey. This information will give us a chance to get to know you prior to Open House, and also have a chance to learn even more about your students and what we can do as instructors to best assist them in the classroom. Students will also receive a syllabus and classroom rules that must be reviewed and signed by both the student and parent.
Thank you for your time! Please check back daily for updates to our class progress, and we look forward to meeting and working with all of you soon!
Regards,
Mr. McNulty and Mr. Land
